Local Universe, Visits, Visual Research, Walks

We are constantly bombarded by information that dictates how we behave. Within the Local Universe studio we were set the task to investigate these signs and how they influence us by collecting visual evidence within the boundaries of the local universe. I chose to do a short walk from Aldgate East Station, down Brick Lane, taking a left onto Fashion Street and back down Commercial Street returning to Aldgate East Station. On my journey, I came across a wide variety of different signs, some very official and others somewhat quirky. Whilst observing I thought about how I would personally improve some of the signs if I were redesigning, on the basis of what works well with the signs and how they could better communicate their messages.
