My recent trip to the library resulted in me looking for books I have already borrowed multiple times or on my favourite artists that I haven’t yet seen. Asides from my fascination with the works of Ernst Haeckel, I am very much intrigued by the work of Karl Blossfeldt and was very happy to stumble across Art Forms In Nature. I remember first seeing Blossfeldt’s work and being convinced they were graphite drawings not photographs because of the slight graininess to the images. They’re beautifully crafted  not just with the texture and detail that has been captured but the carefully considered choice of composition; the way each natural form fills the frame in a unique way exhibiting elegant shapes.
