About the project
Small Nature focuses on ways people create nature spaces in the city where they aren’t easily accessible for personal use. In particular it highlights how window boxes are used outside of houses, pubs and shops to accommodate particular types of flowers and plants. Inspired by this as well as the concept of Guerilla Gardening, Small Nature evolved into a project that aims to encourage people to create their own window boxes, growing a variety of different things – ultimately creating their own personal nature spaces.
The Small Nature pack includes the ‘Small Nature Trail’ Map that comprises of locations to visit and be inspired by, along with a pack of assorted seeds and instructions on how to plant them. A riso printed zine is also included, showing examples of window boxes in their spaces; which folds out into a window poster, illustrating the plants as if you’re on the inside looking out.
